Spring Equinox party at Jack & KD's in Seattle, WA. 6pm to ???. Munchies (chicken wings, meatballs, veggies & dip and possibly KD will make some of the chocolate truffles.) The First Wetleather CREST (Corvallis Ride, Eat, Sleep & Tour). A WL house warming and garage christening for Paul "SS#2" Ritter. Corvallis, OR — Hosted by Luenth the Lewd, Ed Walsh, Dustin Kassman and SSPaul. 5pm Dinner (bring-your-own BBQ) on Saturday night at Paul's place. Join in the traditional Garage Door Signing (tm). Over 20 available beds/couches/ floor spaces. Rides both Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

"Ride A Wish for Starlight" The Starlight Children's Foundation Washington State grants wishes and provides hospital entertainment for seriously ill children. Proceeds from this ride will be used to bring a little magic into the lives of these children and their families!

The Ninth Annual DENIZENS OF DOOM Iron Horse Ride and Joust. Live Oak South group camp, Lake Isabella. You MUST pre-register via email if you want dinner on Saturday night. $30 for Saturday only, $35 for Friday and Saturday. Friday food is not provided; you're on your own.

The 7th annual Great Northwest Dryside Gather ( GPNDG ), the 'premier' WetLeather gathering (campout) of the year. The Gather'98 Boss ( Bob Taylor) has picked the same site we used in 1997, the Simax Group Camp at Crescent Lake, Oregon in the Deschutes National Forest. The campground is located on the NE shore of Crescent Lake just south of Highway 58, and roughly 50 miles north of Crater Lake, OR.

"Welding Day" — Jim & Keri get married in Spokane...


September 2
Oyster Run. This annual event will start from Marysville, Washington at 11:00 and progress north to Clear Lake. From there the party goes west to Anacortes for an afternoon of cycle influenced fun. Events in Anacortes include: all of downtown blocked off for motorcycle only access, cycle drill teams, food booths and merchandise booths. 1997 attendance was 5,000-7,000 cycles. This is mainly a Harley event, but all makes/models are welcome.

September 6
Garage christening Sunday night at Tim Keane's: 1401 Front Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID, following the races in Spokane. Martin will be cooking a pig in the back yard. Dark and not-dark beers will be on tap. RSVPs would be nice as Tim's house is not large...

"The CookOff" — a traditional and annual WetLeather gathering at Martin & Carol's in Vancouver, WA. The 1998 WetLeather CookOff Ingredient Categories are: Figs, Pine Nuts, and Ginger. The Alternative Food-like Category is: Ramen. This year, to save wear and tear on the judges and increase the fervor of the competition, there will be only _one_ dessert category: Dessert

The 3rd Annual "Roost Party" and XL Challange — a traditional WetLeather gathering at Jim & Keri's in Redmond / Fall City, WA. Bring your dirt bikes! The track will be open at 2pm, beer will be tapped at 12pm. J&K will be providing a huge batch of chili, beer and misc other such stuff. Be prepared to get DIRTY! RSVP's and contributions are always appreciated, lodging is available for overnighters -- first come, first served.


December 5
Saturday, December 5th, 5PM until... The Official Opening of the Christmas Season Celebration -- a party at Phil and Debb Kopp's house. 12035 25th Ave NE, Seattle (206) 365-8323. Potluck and/or a beverage of your choice. There will be a keg of Christmas brew along with hot dogs and chili to get things started. A fine cigar is certainly welcome and a nice Port is always appreciated. The Smoking Lamp will be lit. As our very own Miss Manners reminds, an RSVP is always appreciated, but not required.

2nd annual Winter Solstice and Pagan Ritual Saturday December 19th, beginning around 6PM, at the abode of Jack Tavares and Kaddee Lawrence. A "winter celebration" uncontaminated with the frantic commercial and religious fervor that seems to attend this time of year. Homemade dark and filling beer plus "other beers", wine, munchies and other food, but not a "real meal". Donations of food or beverage are appreciated, but not required. December 26
Day after Christmas party & late December Birthday party at Lee Hart's house. Any bowl games will be on the BIG screen whenever they are on. The party should step into high gear later in the evening (beginning around 6 or so). A large hot tub, interesting foods, good beer, diverse drinks. Feel free to bring an interesting side dish, salads or dessert (but come anyway even if you just bring yourself).
